ASEPT® Pleural and Peritoneal Drainage Systems The ASEPT® Pleural Drainage System is intended for long-term, intermittent drainage of symptomatic, recurrent pleural effusions. The ASEPT® Peritoneal Drainage System is indicated for periodic drainage of recurrent and symptomatic malignant ascites.
The primary component of the ASEPT® Drainage System is the catheter, which has a self-sealing valve attached that prevents leakage and provides a standard luer lock connection. The valve can be connected to the ASEPT® Drainage Line attached to the ASEPT® Drainage Kit. The ASEPT® Drainage Line sets are also available as stand-alone items to allow drainage to suitable collection units.
